"Just Keep Swimming! That's What We Do..."

Still working out the kinks!  So here's some studio pix!

 My collection of fun aprons.

Sadie, my alter ego.  Made by my aunt 30 years ago.  She sits on another project that is almost done but in line behind the granny square bag.

My cluttered sewing space.  Must reorganize again!

My sewing view.  I'm so spoiled.  I'd be even more spoiled if someone else was the grounds keeper.  Maintaining this beautiful view is my gym membership.  Who needs weight machines when there are trees to prune!

The ironing board supporting the work-in-progress granny square bag.

One shot of my supplies.  Yes, there are more.  The hunting and gathering got a little out of hand and has completely stopped until I can prove myself (to myself) by creating with all this medium.

Not Stopping!

Well, I don't want to lose my momentum, but I have had a camera to computer meltdown.  So I have no
pictures!  Bummer!  I can't stop now, so just a wee bit of yakkity yakking to stay the course.

I have been looking around the Park (that's my house, Tootle Park.  It will be clear when I post the pictures of the yard.) to find my finished projects and it's been very encouraging.  I have steadily and a little slowly been cranking things out.  I can't wait to post them!  I also snapped a few pix of my studio that made me very happy.

On my big one's to do list today I have listed "Help Mom with camera to computer process".  That's means she must (well, I like to think so).  Hey, it's more interesting than cleaning a toilet or eradicating ivy or painting the chicken coop, for that matter.

Model Ready!

Yesterday was a great day!  My big one had her first modeling gig and it went very well.  It was for a local teen organization in which teens from around the city modeled for local boutiques and thrift stores.
My daughter modeled for yours and my favorite Salvation Army!  I stupidly missed getting a photo of her outfit.  Very retro!  And, her hair and makeup were great  All the hair and makeup artists were licensed professionals and made the kids feel very special and wonderful!  All in all it was a real taste of what that job is about and I think many of the kids will be rethinking benefit of the hours and hours of work in exchange for the brief moments on the runway.

My smallest and her friend came fashion ready to watch the models and performers.  I think they look fantastic too!  :D

Still working out the photo from camera to computer to blog process.  My family is hating me!  Maybe a bit of an exaggeration.  It seems like a different process every time I do it!  :/

Work In Progress

Good Morning!

Here is my latest work-in-progress.  Not my only w.i.p. just my latest.  Also it is my practice photo paste.

This is a granny square shoulder bag.  The squared is called a Chocolate Box because of the brown accents that I think look like separate stitches but are actually a round of crocheting.  I'm in the process of lining it with the floral tapestry material.  It makes me feel fallish!  I made one in the Spring.  It's springish. :)

I'll have more pictures of completed projects, if this goes well.

Btw, I always label any tools I take with me to group projects.  I do this for my sake, for often I don't remember what I brought and what's mine. x)

p.s.  Yeowza!  The picture!  Tres difficile!  Pardon my Franglais, it was challenging!  Just a couple hundred times more and I'll get it. :/

I'm Back!

Well, I'm back.  I know I've been gone for awhile but the technology has really intimidated me.  I'm having quite the tempestuous relationship with my camera which I soon hope to resolve it with a little cooing and affection.  Then I will be showing some of the creations I have finished.  And as I look around there seems to be quite a few.  :)

The homeschooling is going very well.  Well, after 13 years it should!  I'm a slow learner and apparently so is one of my offspring.  Yep, that's the one my mother foretold would be just like me then I would know the hell I put her through.  Don't get me wrong, my mother was my best friend but now as I peer into my youngest's face and expressions it's all coming back to me.  Sorry Mom.

The thrifting has slowed a bit.  Ya know, I think I can do as much financial damage at Salvation Army as I can at Nordstrom.  Oh well, I have plenty of thrift booty to keep me busy.

'Til next time and hopefully with some pix.  I hope everyone is persevering with grit and grace!
